So our cats currently have fleas. We don't know where they came from, but they got to be a problem for my roommate's two cats, and a few days ago I found a couple on mine, so we busted out the treatments and flea powder for the carpet and couches. About a month ago, we dosed them all with the drops on the back of the neck, but apparently that didn't help by itself. The last time my cat had them - which was when I got her home from the pound - I gave her two flea baths that didn't seem to help, before dosing her, doing the carpet and furniture with flea powder, and getting her a flea collar. That did the trick, so hopefully it'll work this time as well.
